About VITA:
WWU’s VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) is a program sponsored by WWU’s Beta Alpha Psi in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service to provide free tax preparation and assistance to individuals with low-to-moderate income. We have tax counselors available to assist students and community members.  All tax returns prepared at our VITA site are e-filed (electronically filed) as part of our free service.

What VITA Can Do For You

 What to Bring With You:
-Photo ID and Social Security Cards for you and your spouse
-Social Security Cards for all dependents claimed on your return
-Birth Dates for you, your spouse, & dependents
-All tax documents, W-2, 1099-Misc, 1099-R, unemployment, cash income, etc
– For students: Student financial info from school (scholarships, tuition costs, etc.)
-All health/medical insurance information for everyone on your return
-A copy of last year’s Federal tax return if available
-Direct deposit information (copy of a check for direct deposit of your refund)
-Any other documents that you think are important to your tax return

When you arrive, you will be given a VITA Intake Form to complete.
