AFRP Overview
The Amazon Finance Rotation Program (AFRP) will hire and develop university Finance and Accounting professionals with exceptional learning agility and demonstrated leadership principles to successfully acquire technical, financial and business skills to advance their careers in Finance and Accounting at Amazon.

AFRP Analysts will go through several rotations to ensure they gain the diverse experience to be well rounded leaders at Amazon. The Finance track will reside in Seattle, and consist of supporting our lines of businesses. The Accounting track will also reside in Seattle and includes rotations in Business-line Accounting, Central Accounting, and Internal Audit. The Operations Finance Rotation Program (OFRP) will be retained as the Operations track where FAs will work in our North American Fulfillment Centers during their rotations.

Amazon Finance Rotation Program (AFRP)

Amazon is seeking candidates with a strong sense of ownership, excellent analytic skills, a desire to learn complex processes and systems and results-oriented accounting interns to work in our corporate offices in Seattle, Washington. The ideal candidate is a proven self-starter with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to dive deep. Amazon’s finance team is searching for candidates who consistently exceed expectations, who thrive in a challenging workplace, and who can actively contribute to our talented team. The global accounting organization supports our financial reporting, internal control, intercompany, and transfer pricing activities and also supports new business launches globally for Amazon in the consumer products, digital initiatives, merchant, operations, logistics, payments, and cloud computing lines of business. Based on the individual’s performance after the internship, there would be an opportunity to start the Full-Time AFRP.

Typical responsibilities include:

· Detailed analysis of general ledger activity: Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
· Account reconciliations and business analysis: Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future trends and comparisons to actuals.
· Process improvement: Identify efficiencies through automation and reduction of redundancies. Streamline the processes involved in month end close.
Part of the internship program is an intern project, which requires the candidate to flex their finance, accounting, analytical, and business acumen to work on optimizing and driving quality to solve a problem or improve an existing process. The intern will have the opportunity to network and interact with strong leaders and developers of people throughout the Finance organization. Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours/week during the 3-month summer internship.
