Alas, the time has come for a new reign. Join us this Thursday, February 22nd, for officer elections! If you are planning to run for a position, or if you aren’t but get swept up in the moment and end up running anyway, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Officer candidates must either be members of Beta Alpha Psi or completing their candidacy period this quarter with expectation of induction in the Spring.
- You will be required to make a short speech about why you should be elected.
- It is an excellent idea to dress to impress.
- Position descriptions can be found under the “Officers” tab along with our emails if you have any questions regarding said positions (we are all more than happy to help!).
Meet at the same time, same place, 6:30PM in PH146. Food will be available but I encourage anyone to bring cake, as this is a special day.
Best of luck, grasshoppers. I wish you good fortune in the wars to come.
Hello everyone! I hope the quarter is treating you well and that you’re excited and ready for another BAP meeting! You may recall, at the beginning of fall quarter, BAP hosted a panel of firms to discuss fall recruiting with our members. Attendees got the opportunity to learn exactly what recruiters were looking for, recruitment best practices, and receive quality interview and resume tips.
With fall recruiting in the rear view mirror, it’s time to start thinking about Summer Leadership Programs! SLPs can be your ticket in the door to your favorite firms and employer prospects. Quite often, SLPs lead to internships, which can lead to full time positions for the right candidate. This Thursday, February 15th, at 6:30PM in PH146, BAP will host its second panel of the academic year, this time to enlighten students about upcoming SLP applications and interview processes. You will hear from Moss Adams, EY, Grant Thornton, and more! Come with questions and your shiniest networking shoes.
Who doesn’t love Costco? Well, folks, we’ve got news for you. BAP will be hosting representatives from Costco on campus this Thursday in PH146! Whether you’re interested in private sector accounting, or just want to get closer to the secret of the chicken bake, this meeting is for you. We will convene at 6:30PM in our sharpest business casual to hear the presenters, network, and grab some sustenance straight from Costco itself. See you there!
What’s up dudes and dudettes? Ready to explore another area of accounting? This week, BAP will be hosting none other than Chris Work, CFO of Zumiez. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you much more other than, per usual, be in PH146 on Thursday at 6:30PM for food, networking, and another insightful presentation from an accounting professional. Per unusual, please come dressed in Zumiez casual. This means exactly what you think it means. It’s gonna be dope.
Happy Monday, ladies and gentlemen. Ready for another BAP meeting? We are! Especially when KPMG comes to town! Surely you’re familiar with the accounting giant, and big four member. Representatives will be here this Thursday, January 25, at 6:30PM in PH146 to speak to you and answer questions. As always, this is a great opportunity to network, and a great opportunity to eat dinner. Come in your business casual shiny shoes, because at BAP we dress to impress!
Thinking about how in the world you are going to get your 225 credits to qualify for the CPA exam? Considering grad school? Not considering grad school (yet)? Well, this is the meeting for you. This Thursday, January 18th, at 6:30PM, join us in PH146 for a grad program panel featuring UW, Gonzaga, and our very own WWU. Learn what it takes to be a grad student, and come with plenty of questions! Food and beverages will be provided, and dress code is business casual.
Welcome back, fellow BAP-goers! I hope you all had a fulfilling break and are excited and ready to begin winter quarter!
Our first meeting of the new year will be this Thursday, January 11, at 6:30PM per usual. However, beginning this quarter, our meetings will NOT be held in CF115. Instead, please find us in our new and improved location, PH146! Joining us there this week will be Larson Gross, a firm right here in Bellingham. Come to mingle, hear a presentation, and eat some food in your finest casual!
Just a reminder that last week was our last BAP meeting for this quarter! On behalf of all the officers, I wish you all the best of luck on finals, and Happy Holidays!
We’re on the home stretch – only two more weeks until finals! We can do this!
I know it’s crunch time, but I’m going to throw another curve ball at you. The agenda of our meeting this week will be just touch different and instead we will welcome Margo Rukashaza, a PACCAR representative. Margo will be here Thursday, November 30th, at 6:30PM in our usual spot, CF 115, to speak about six sigma!
If you know what six sigma is, then you should come! If you don’t know what six sigma is, then you should definitely come! Pick out your favorite business casual attire and get excited because we have free dinner and six sigma. See you there!
No meeting this week! Instead, I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and a relaxing break.
Just a reminder that the February BAP officer elections are approaching faster than you think! If you’re interested, please talk to one of the current officers (next week), or shoot us an email for more information.
